I am part of the graduate team working on the TRACERS mission, led by Dr. David Miles. I have taken part in the magnetic screening process — making sure the magnetometers aboard the two satellites will not be significantly affected by the magnetic field the spacecraft itself generates. Screening is the half of the problem you can solve before launch. My research is the other half: an algorithm that isolates the spacecraft-generated noise that gets through anyway, and removes it.
